Frequently asked questions
What is a voice minute?
One minute of one connected participant. Ten people in a room for one minute use ten minutes. Usage is measured by our servers, so it cannot be changed from a client app.
What happens when my minutes run out?
New voice sessions are refused until you buy more. A session that has already started keeps running for the time that was reserved for it. Your dashboard shows the remaining balance at any time.
Do the minutes expire?
No. Bought minutes stay on your account until you use them.
How do I pay?
Choose a package in your dashboard and you get an invoice with a payment reference. Pay it as described there, and the minutes are added as soon as we verify the payment.
Can I start for free?
Yes. Every new verified account receives 200 free voice minutes.
Do you support Flutter apps?
Yes. The splive package connects Flutter apps for Android and iOS to voice rooms.
Where does the API key go?
On your own backend only. Your backend asks Specular for a short-lived session token and hands that token to your app. Never put the key inside a mobile app or website.
