Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Specular.Live when you create a developer account, buy voice minutes or use the splive SDK.

Last updated: October 31, 2026

1. The service

Specular.Live ("we", "us") provides realtime voice rooms and chat that you add to your own application with the splive SDK and the Specular.Live API. You keep full responsibility for your application, its users and its content.

2. Developer accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and give accurate information when you register. You are responsible for everything done with your API keys. Keep them on your server, never inside an app; if a key is exposed, revoke it in the developer control panel immediately.

3. Prepaid voice minutes

Voice usage is paid in advance by buying minute packages shown on the pricing page. Minutes are consumed per participant per minute while connected to a room, measured by our servers. Purchased minutes do not expire, are not transferable between organizations and are not refundable once used. Unused minutes may be refunded within 14 days of purchase on request. Trial minutes granted to new accounts are free and may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to break the law, to harass, threaten or exploit anyone, to send spam, to distribute malware, or to interfere with the service or other customers. Applications aimed at children must comply with all laws that apply to them. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules, and we will tell you why.

5. Availability

We aim for the service to be available continuously but do not guarantee it. Planned maintenance is announced on the status page. Per-environment and platform-wide concurrency limits apply and are documented in the quick start.

6. Your data and your users' data

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You are the controller of your users' data; we process it only to run the service for you.

7. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email or in the developer control panel at least 14 days in advance. You can close your account at any time from the control panel. We may close accounts that stay unpaid or inactive for 12 months, after notice.
